OBJECTIVES OF THE INITIATIVE
INTRODUCTION
“Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India) is an initiative launched by the Government of India on October 31, 2015, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The primary aim of this program is to strengthen cultural unity and promote mutual understanding among different states and Union Territories of India.
This initiative fosters a spirit of national integration by encouraging people from diverse linguistic, cultural, and social backgrounds to engage with and appreciate each other’s heritage. Through inter-state partnerships, educational institutions, cultural exchanges, tourism programs, and language learning initiatives, “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” aims to build a strong and united nation.
By celebrating India’s rich diversity, this program not only enhances cooperation between states but also reinforces the idea of “Unity in Diversity.” It encourages citizens, especially students and youth, to embrace and respect different traditions, cuisines, folk arts, and local dialects, thereby strengthening the social fabric of the country.

Mission:
- Inclusive Education for All: Ensure equitable access to quality education for children with special needs across different states, embracing cultural diversity and regional heritage.
- Cross-Cultural Learning: Promote inter-state exchange programs for students with special needs, enabling them to experience and appreciate diverse languages, traditions, and art forms.
- Capacity Building: Train special educators, therapists, and caregivers in various regional methodologies and inclusive teaching techniques.
- Technology & Accessibility: Leverage assistive technology and digital platforms to make cultural and educational resources accessible in multiple languages and formats.
- Collaboration & Exchange: Encourage partnerships between special education institutions across different states to share best practices, research, and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Empowerment through Skill Development: Facilitate vocational training and skill-building programs tailored to the needs of differently-able students, empowering them for independent living..
Community Awareness & Engagement: Foster awareness and sensitization programs at local and national levels to promote acceptance, inclusion, and respect for diversity in abilities and cultures.
