INTRODUCTION

A Student Welfare Committee (SWC) in an educational institution is a body responsible for promoting the overall well-being of students, acting as an interface between the administration and the student body to address and solve student issues, and fostering a positive learning environment. 

VISION & MISSION

The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. Create an environment where every student can voice out their concern or need.

Functions of Student Welfare Committee

  • Student Well-being: The primary goal of the SWC is to ensure the holistic development and well-being of students, encompassing academic, social, emotional, and physical aspects. 
  • Interface between Administration and Students: The committee acts as a bridge between the institute’s administration and the students, addressing concerns, gathering feedback, and implementing solutions. 
  • Policy Development and Review: The SWC develops, reviews, and evaluates policies related to student affairs, ensuring they align with the institute’s vision and mission. 
  • Student Issues and Concerns: The committee addresses and resolves student issues, providing support and guidance in various areas, including academic, personal, and social challenges. 
  • Co-curricular Activities The SWC often facilitates and organizes co-curricular activities, clubs, and events to promote student engagement and development. 
  • Counseling and Guidance: The committee may offer counseling services to students, providing support for academic, personal, and psychological well-being.
  • Creating a Positive Environment: The SWC strives to create a conducive and supportive learning environment, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting student success. 
  • Student Development Programs: The committee may organize and implement programs aimed at enhancing student skills, leadership abilities, and overall development.
  • Student Rights and Responsibilities: The SWC may review and recommend policies related to student rights, responsibilities, conduct, and discipline. 
  • Student Organizations and Funding: The committee may consider issues concerning student organizations and their funding, extracurricular activities, and student government. 
  • Facilitating Student Interests: The committee organizes activities and facilitates student interests, promoting a vibrant and engaging campus environment.
